Constructed at the beginning of the 19th century in an Arts and Crafts style the original house was not the finest example of its kind. CSA were appointed to renovate and extend the house so that it would be more appropriate to its setting while maintaining and enhancing its Arts and Crafts style. Living accommodation is provided over four floors including and extensive basement, the entire house extending to approximately 1,100 sq.m. The house is richly detailed, employing red sandstone window dressings, copper roofs, parquet and Italian marble floors, French polished panelling and ornate cornices. The design creates a house which, though large, provides a warm and intimate family setting and which both internally and externally presents an original turn-of-the–century home.
