Terenure

PRIVATE RESIDENCE

This mid-century house in Terenure shows the late influence of the German ‘Bauhaus’ style with its curved glass corners, horizontal window fenestration and brick parapets.

Our clients wished to maintain this style in the new side and rear extensions to the house. CSA worked with specialist joiners to ensure that the fenestration to the new double glazed curved windows to the front elevation adequately reflected the original steel windows still evident in a number of houses in the area. The work to the interior of the house was extensive including a complete re-organisation of the floor plans, the provision of a new roof. Modern standards of air-tightness and a high levels of insulation was employed throughout the existing house and extensions to achieve a high level of thermal performance throughout. The house is set in a beautifully landscaped rear garden.
